If you haven’t tried acupuncture yet, here are some of the frequently asked questions that you may also have in mind:

What kinds of pain can acupuncture helps with?

-Back pain

- Neck pain/stiffness/tightness

- Sciatic pain

- Knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle pain (Okay, basically any kind of joint pain)

- Headaches

- Fibromyalgia

- Post-surgical pain

- Toothache/jaw pain

- Pain associated with Multiple Sclerosis

- Menstrual pain/cramping

- Acute pain due to injury

- Nerve pain

How does it work?

Acupuncture is a safe, effective, and drug-free therapy that can treat a wide variety of health problems including pain. It involves an insertion of a very fine, thin, and one-time use needle to a specific point we call “acupoint” and can stimulate the nervous system. This, in turn, releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord and brain. These biochemical changes may stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities and releasing endorphins-the body’s natural pain killing chemicals.

How many treatments do I need?

-For acute condition or sports injury, a lot of patients notice a pain relief almost instantly after the first treatment, your practitioner may require you a follow up appointment from 2-4 more treatments.

-For Chronic condition, it may take up to 2 to three sessions for the pain to subside. A typical treatment course is 6-10 treatments/visits.

Here at ReGen Holistic Therapies, we use different modalities such as cupping or guasha or tuina together with acupuncture to support and amplify the treatment.
